Hello all! I should probably start by saying I’m not a herbalist, so I don’t know the sciences behind each tea but I thought I would share with you my favourite herbal teas and their health benefits.
I personally believe that Herbal teas are a great way of boosting your bodies nutrients during the day and most importantly they can be super delicious! I love having these, especially at university when buying milk gets too expensive! But also, some are great with the skin! So below are my 5 favourite teas!
This is the first on my list because it is an all over great tea! I think it’s such a good alternative to normal tea because it has a lovely flavour and the benefits are great!
Green Tea is great for the following health benefits:
- Brain Function
- Fat Loss
- Lowering the Risk of Cancer
- Contains loads of Antioxidants
To be honest the main reason I use it is for weight loss, especially when I’m going to the gym! I feel like it gives me energy and, apparently, 5 cups of green tea a day can help promote weight loss! Sounds ridiculous but I think that’s manageable.
Honey & Lemon Tea
I prefer this tea when it’s fresh clear honey and fresh lemon because the flavours are so much nicer! But as an actor I have honey and lemon for vocal benefits: the lemon acts as an antibacterial; and the honey sooths the vocal chords.
But there are also other benefits of this delicious tea:
- Acts as a cleanser and detoxifier.
- Aids with digestion
- Boosts the Immune System
- Great for Hangovers!
I didn’t realise it was so good for hangovers but I guess there’s no harm in trying! But you can see how good the tea is for the body! I could honestly drink this all the time! But as you see, I love a lot of different teas!
Some of you might not have thought about peppermint tea and you probably don’t think it would be a nice tea to have but I can tell you it’s worth a try! The taste is a flavour that you have to get used to after a while but after that stage it’s so lovely and actually really calming.
Here are the benefits:
- Improved digestion
- Reduces Pain and Inflammation
- Aids in Weightloss
- Boosts the Immune System
It’s so good for so many reasons it’s worth a try! I love this to have just before dinner! I think it helps calm me down and settles me for a good nights sleep!
Love, Love, Love! It is so lovely this tea! It’s so good as a replacement for ordinary tea, it’s my go to, when I want to try something different. It’s great for any time of the day and tastes great!
This is why I think it’s great:
- Calms Upset Stomachs
- Helps sleep
- Acts as an antibacterial
- Promotes Healthy Skin
I think that Camomile provides so many health benefits and it’s so calming, I’d recommend it to anyone!
Red Berry Tea
Alongside the great flavour, this tea has so many positive benefits for your body and health! It is so good for the body I think that even I have to drink it more often!
And these are the reasons why:
- Works as an Anti-inflammatory
- It contains loads of antioxidants
- Cancer Protection
- Heart and Circulatory Benefits
I don’t have this very often but the flavour is great and as you can see has so many benefits! There’s no reason not to try it!
The teas that I’ve talked about are all great but I have two other teas that I actually love as well but didn’t make it into my top 5!
Lavender Tea- which actually helps digestion, relieves tension and helps with sleep – I usually have this before bed, although the flavour isn’t everyone’s favourite!
Mango Green Tea – I love the sweet mango twist in the green tea flavour, which supposedly aids with diabetes treatment, lowers risk of hypertension and it’s really high in vitamins!
So there you have it! My Top 5 Herbal Teas! I hope I’ve inspired you to try something new and relish in the health benefits of these herbal teas!
