Since this month I’ve been trying to use less products and use more natural remedies for skin. Thus, for this month my skin tip of the month is…
How you do this is by boiling water, putting it into a bowl and then cover it with a towel, when it’s cooled just slightly, so that you don’t burn your face with the steam put your head under the towel, soaking up all the steam.
This steam facial is great for your skin, it open up the pores and naturally cleanses your skin. You can also infuse the water with essential oils to achieve more specific results. WikiHow do a great step by step and show which essential oils help specific needs.
- Use lemongrass or peppermint for an energising steam.
- Use chamomile or lavender for a relaxing steam.
- Use peppermint or eucalyptus for a cold-conquering steam.
- Use sandalwood or bergamot for a stress-relieving steam.
So it’s great not only for skin, it’s also great for energising, relaxing, colds and stress relief, obviously depending on which oils you use. From a performers point of view it’s not only great to shift a horrible cold, but it helps to rehydrate the voice.
With all these benefits for 10 minutes of your day, either in the morning or at night before bed, is totally worth it. I give this process a 5/5, as it’s easy to do and great benefits!
