Product Review: STARSKIN Exfoliating Double-Layer Foot Mask Socks

Feet peeling products are all the rage at the minute, with everyone wanting their feet to feel baby soft. I desperately wanted to try this new technique and I found the Starskin Exfoliating Double-Layer Foot Mask Socks on BeautyBay for £8.50 per pair. With an upcoming holiday I bit the bullet and I wanted to share with you what my thoughts were on the latest beauty trend.

1.Packaging – 4/5

The packaging is very similar to Starskin’s other skincare products but just in a light purple shade. It has all the information on the back of how to use the product and how it should work.  Packaging wise it is pretty to look at (as pretty as foot mask packaging can be).

2. Price – 4/5

I think for one treatment it is a little excessive – £8.50 per treatment. However I have to say that for the result I didn’t mind paying that much as it is a treatment I’d do every once in a while, not every fortnight.

3. Application – 4/5

I was a little confused as to which of the socks to put on each foot but then I realised it says which side is for each foot after I’d already put them on backwards. Generally though the instructions were easy to read and follow. The thing I should mention is that the outside of the socks also have a creamy liquid on the outside, which I presume is to preserve the socks in the packaging but it did dry after a while of being exposed to the air.

The only downside of applying this product, the reason I wouldn’t do it every fortnight, is the hour or even ninety minutes that it takes to let the product soak in. If you’re anything like me and you’re not very good with waiting it can be a bit restricting. However, after the ninety minutes (I wanted to see the full power of this product). My feet felt really soft, clean and rejuvenated.

4. Results – 4.25/5

I absolutely loved the result of this product. The initial softness and revitalisation right after using the socks was amazing, my feet have never felt so soft. However, it took about three days for the skin to start peeling. The only downside to the process of peeling is that not all the skin comes of at once. As suggested on the packaging it can take 7-10 days for the skin to fully shed. It took 7 days for the skin on my feet to fully shed and in that time my skin was shedding wherever I went, even in my shoes. However, I really enjoyed sitting at the end of the day and peeling of the skin. Or sitting in the bath exfoliating the loose skin.

I was actually surprised how much skin came of the soles of my feet and the only thing that could have made the process better would have been to have done a foot moisturising mask at the end of the process to increase the moisture in the new skin and make them feel extra soft.

5. Eczema Friendly? – 4/5

I don’t suffer with eczema on my feet so for me this isn’t an issue. However, I’d like to know if anyone has had a negative reaction from the product, therefore I give it a four out of five.

6. Summary (Positives & Negatives)

+Don’t need to do too many treatments throughout the year

+Great Results

+Easy to Use

-Takes a long time to peel

-Takes a long time to soak in

-Price

7. Overall Rating

And the overall mark for Starskin’s Exfoliating Double-Layer Foot Mask Socks is….

4.05 out of 5!!!

This is a great product for those of you looking to exfoliate your feet, making it easy (despite the time it takes up) to rid yourself of old, dead skin. I’d definitely recommend this product, and I imagine that with regular use (once every few months) then there with be even better results.
