Eczema: Makeup

Hello my lovelies! Today I thought I’d take the time to talk to you about make-up and eczema…

Recently I have found that, in not wearing makeup everyday, my skin has generally gotten better, less spotty and no eczema. I think it’s a proven fact that not wearing make-up is better for your skin, but my focus is on the eczema.

I have found that make-up, worn every day, can seriously affect the PH balance of your skin. In my own personal experience, if I don’t take the proper care to re-balance my skin, it will break out in dry patches/eczema.

Makeup (My Everyday Makeup Look) – Not to be confused with my ‘natural’ look!

Especially in the winter, if I wear makeup, I get eczema break out on my eyelids, which can get quite painful.

It’s a difficult balance that can be easily pushed over. I’d therefore recommend that if this ever happens to you, stop putting makeup on at least that area of the skin or completely until the skin is healed. Use a very gentle moisturiser (I use Vaseline/E45) to help it re-balance.

In the next few weeks I will share with you the make-up that I use and review them so that maybe you can try it out! I’ll also have a look at different makeup removal techniques and see which I think is the kindest to my skin!

If you have any tips or favourite makeup products, then send me a message!
